The course promotes awareness and safe behaviour in environments where exposure to these hazards may occur. By completing this course, students will gain a basic understanding of the different types of sharps and infectious waste, potential risks and health impacts, safe handling and disposal methods, Personal protective equipment (PPE) use, spill management and incident response, relevant legislation and workplace procedures.
